To make meaningful changes in your life that last it often times takes baby steps. For me personally the act of cleaning up the food I put in my body was a process. I was a clean eating magazine subscriber and then I really found my place when I did a Whole30 in 2017.
The next step for me was cleaning up my beauty routine which I did in October of 2017. At that time my mom was in what we would quickly find out to be the last couple of months of her battle with cancer. The day after I had my second second in March 2017 I found out she did have cancer. Her diagnosis rocked me to my core - it always felt like my parents would be invincible and live forever. I have no doubt the harmful and toxic ingredients we encounter daily simply through the products we use are to blame. The beauty industry is a huge industry in the United States and did you know it is also very under regulated? My mom was one of my first supporters as I embarked on my new path of being an educator and consultant with Beautycounter.
Just as it is important to me to keep my body active so that I can run around, keep up with and play with my boys it is also important to me to be mindful of the products I put on my body.
I joined the movement to actively work towards bringing cleaner and safer beauty into the hands of everyone. I believe in this company with their commitment to transparency and continual and rigorous screening process of the ingredients in their products. Together we can make a change for better.
